Joshua's 1980s and 1990s Homes, and the Systems Under Them
Joshua grew from 1,470 people in 1980 to 3,828 by 1990 as Fort Worth commuters moved south along State Highway 174. Census estimates show 39% of Joshua homes were built between 1980 and 1999, a bigger share than in Cleburne, Burleson or Alvarado. Today the city has about 8,550 residents.
Whether a system from that era is conventional or aerobic, 30-plus years is when the drain field or the aerobic components tend to need attention. Homes change hands, and the pumping history often leaves with the previous owner. If nobody knows when yours was last pumped, assume it is due.
Joshua sits in the Cross Timbers and straddles two watersheds: the north side drains to Village Creek and the Trinity, the south side to East Buffalo Creek and the Brazos. Cross Timbers soils in Johnson County range from sandy loam to loam over a clay subsoil, so two lots in the same subdivision can call for different systems.
Septic Services in Joshua
For Joshua homes we start most jobs with an inspection or a full pumpdown, because both show what shape the system is in. From there it is repair where repair makes sense, and a new conventional or aerobic system only when the old one cannot be saved.
